Ireland

We arrived in Cork about two days before the “Beast from the East” winter storm swept across the UK and into Ireland. Most of the city was shut down for several days and we barely left the hotel, which was at the bottom of a wooded hill that many cars had difficulty driving up. Cars were abandoned on the streets. Grocery stores sold out of bread and toilet paper. The city ran out of salt for the sidewalks. Our transportation back to Dublin was delayed, giving us only one night there before flying back to the US.
